Susan Parr has a passion for quilts and her passion comes from desire as much as by necessity. Susan's 3 year old son accidentally set fire to her grandmothers quilt. 'No Problem', said Susan, and she tried to reproduce it, a nine patch, she never did finish the quilt. This experience helped launch her quilting career.

In 1990 She opened a quilt shop in Kettering, Ohio called The Cotton Patch. She owned and operated the shop for 5 years. During that time, Susan became a founding partner in Peaceable Kingdom and started designing patterns, writing books and designing a line of flannel fabric for Marcus Brothers Textiles. Pieceable Kingdom was the beginning force behind the flannel revolution in quilting. Since then flannel is very commonly used and fabric lines in flannel continue to grow.

These experiences eventually lead to Susan starting yet another company Patchwork Moon Designs in 1996. Susan not only wanted to publish her own designs but the designs of other talented quilt designers.

Patchwork Moon Designs and the talents of Susan Parr have quickly been recognized in the Quilting World.

Many articles have been featured in widely-know publications like McCalls Quilting, Sew Many Quilts. In 2001 Patchwork Moon Easter pattern ‘Chocolate Bunnies’ was 1 of 26 patterns chosen for a new book from Fons and Porters for The Love of Quilting magazine called, ‘Our Best Seasonal Quilts’.

Patchwork Moon is growing by leaps and bound, in the past few years and the staff is excited about new projects around the corner. The website will continue to grow and we look forward to offering quilters live chat with Susan and other designers. In Addition to our new shopping cart with online ordering, we will be adding message boards and other promotional campaigns.
